ISO 9001: Design and Development (Part 5)

This 101 is looking further into Section 8.3.5 Design and Development Outputs. Why is this important to my business? Because design and development, just like any other process has outputs.

This helps makes sure everyone understands what the process is and what has been agreed. The outputs of the design and development process will be key for the production or service provisions.

How do I do this? The design and development outputs are guided by the standard with the following points:

There are a variety of ways you can manage this. Personally, I use Teamwork to help me plan any project, including design and development ones. You can upload all the output documents mentioned above to the files area for everyone to see and all documentation is version controlled. Any issues can be raised as tasks and tracked through the system. There are a lot of options to suit whatever process you decide on.

Many of the companies I have worked with have found it useful to have an independent person to work with them to help control their design and development processes.
